Itinerary - Ascent to Aconcagua - Normal Route 18 days

Things to Know from Ascent to Aconcagua - Normal Route 18 days

The journey begins in the vibrant city of Mendoza, where you will finalize the last details of logistics and meet your team. A scenic transfer to the historic Puente de Inca marks the transition to the high mountains and the expedition atmosphere.

The approach through the Horcones Valley offers unparalleled views of Aconcagua and allows for a gradual ascent to Confluencia. There, the trek to Plaza Francia reveals the colossal South Face and ensures solid acclimatization before tackling the 40 km to Plaza de Mulas, our comfortable base camp.

For several days, we combine high-altitude porters and strategic rest. This “carry high, sleep low” methodology reinforces adaptation and conserves energy for the decisive phase. The high-altitude camps—Plaza Canadá, Nido de Cóndores, and Plaza Cólera—are tactically located for short and efficient stages.

The final assault on the summit starts from Plaza Cólera at almost 6,000 m. The ascent via the North Ridge and the legendary Canaleta requires endurance, but rewards you with a 360° panoramic view of the mountain range and the interior of Argentina and Chile. The two reserve days increase the probability of success in the face of the unpredictable white wind.

After conquering the roof of America, we begin a celebratory descent to Plaza de Mulas and, the next day, we travel through the valley to Puente de Inca. Back in Mendoza, a well-deserved dinner and the comfort of the hotel put the finishing touches on an experience that transcends the mere summit: you will have lived an authentic Andean expedition with comprehensive logistics and expert guidance.
