Things to Know from Iceland: Ski Touring in the Troll Peninsula
Iceland, land of volcanoes and glaciers, offers in Tröllaskagi a true paradise for ski touring. Over six days we’ll link 1,000–1,500 m summits, skiing all the way down to black sand beaches washed by the Atlantic.
Each afternoon, after gaining between 900 and 1,200 m of elevation, we’ll unwind in local hot springs and may even witness the Northern Lights dancing over the fjord.
Accommodation is in a private house exclusively for the group, ensuring smooth logistics and a warm atmosphere. Dinners feature homemade meals with local specialties such as cod and lamb.
Our UIAGM-certified guide adapts each route to weather and group level, providing continuous training in ski touring technique and avalanche safety.
Private transportation gives us full flexibility, including a visit to Akureyri, the capital of the North, for shopping and cultural discovery.
On the final day we return to Reykjavík, wrapping up the adventure with its vibrant urban life before a day of sightseeing along the famous Golden Circle.
This way, we combine wild ski touring, thermal relaxation, and the essence of Iceland in a compact and accessible program.
