Things to Know from Lobuche East Peak (6,119m)
The journey begins in Kathmandu, where the formalities and vibrant Newar culture serve as a prologue to the adventure. After a short mountain flight to Lukla, the route follows the legendary Everest Trail along the Dudh Koshi River, passing suspension bridges and rhododendron forests.
Namche Bazaar acts as a commercial hub and the first major viewpoint of Everest; there we spend an essential acclimatisation day before continuing on to the monasteries of Tengboche, the spiritual epicentre of the Sherpa people. The trail gains altitude to Dingboche and Lobuche, where stone walls protect the last crops in the valley.
High Camp, at 5,400 m, is the starting point for technical training and the summit attempt. The ascent requires crampons on snowy slopes and a short section equipped with fixed ropes to the sharp ridge leading to the 6,119 m summit. The reward: a unique panoramic view of the Everest pyramid and the glacial valleys of the Khumbu.
Once the objective has been achieved, the descent is made along the same route, with an overnight stay in Thukla to recover strength. The return to Namche and Lukla allows you to savour Sherpa hospitality once again before flying back to Kathmandu, where you will have free time for shopping or cultural visits before your international flight.
