Itinerary - Manaslu 8,163m Ski Expedition

Things to Know from Manaslu 8,163m Ski Expedition

Mount Manaslu, located in the Mansiri Himal range, is the eighth highest mountain in the world. It has been known by different names, including “Kutang,” meaning “Mountain of the Spirits,” as its name derives from the Sanskrit word “Manasa,” meaning “intellect.”

We do not offer a basic Manaslu program without guarantees, acting merely as intermediaries with companies managing base camp, high camps, and logistics on-site.

Our Director, Jordi Tosas — a mountaineer with over 30 years of experience in the Himalayas — together with our team of multidisciplinary experts, will create a custom, personalized plan based on your experience to help you reach Everest with the highest chances of success.

The approach trek to base camp follows the Budhi Gandaki River through picturesque villages rich in culture and tradition, providing ideal conditions for acclimatization. After passing through dense forests and gaining altitude, we finally reach Manaslu Base Camp. Our stay in Sama Gaon not only aids acclimatization but also offers a chance to relax in a charming village of farmers and traders. Visiting the local Buddhist monastery is a key moment, as we receive blessings from the monks.

Reaching the summit of Manaslu requires setting up four camps above base camp. The climbing route ascends moderate-angled snow slopes in the lower sections, with the gradient increasing above Camp 1. Up to Camp 4, the incline continues to steepen. Our experienced Sherpas will fix ropes through a series of ice bulges to reach a flat col suitable for camping. From there, the route climbs a series of snowy slopes and plateaus to reach a steep snow ridge that leads to Manaslu’s Main Summit.

“OUR ENTIRE TEAM WILL EXECUTE A CUSTOM PLAN WITH A SINGLE GOAL: REACHING THE SUMMIT OF MANASLU WITH THE HIGHEST CHANCE OF SUCCESS.”
